J.A. Jance is an author known to me from her JP Beaumont series, and to a lesser amount, her Joanna Brady series. She's also personally a very nice lady, as I discovered when she came to the Boise library last year or so. "Cruel Intent" is the first book I've read about another character, Ali Reynolds. Is is actually the fourth book in the series. Ali Reynolds is a delightfully good person who accidentally finds a murder mystery to solve when the local law enforcement personnel buy a "frame" job. She finds the truth and overcomes the perils from the serial killer along the way. Riveting book-read it in two days!-Beverly N.
