Wow! That's my biggest thought! This book, while centrally having a sexually slavery and abuse as a beginning, manages to avoid being overly disturbing and instead focuses on Jack. What would life and perception/reality be if you had only ever known an 11 x 11 room? The author tells the story of Jack with breathtaking skill and I fell in love with this little boy. I can think of very, very few books that I would give 5 stars-this is one of them! -Jennifer S.
