This is the first book of a trilogy. It's about Annie's People, an old world Amish group. Annie struggles to put away her love of drawing, which is thought to be a sin in her church. There are several story lines introduced, including a missing child, a worldly artist friend and the rumschpringe period where the Amish allow their children to experience the world outside of the community before joining the church formally.-Marla F.
