The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer
A post WWII story, this tale begins just months after the war came to an end. Entirely composed of letters between friends, the story is weaved around Juliet, a writer, whose research takes her to the English Channel isle of Guernsey. There, she becomes attached to those first corresponding acquaintances that become her life teachers and friends. As she learns of their island capture of the Nazis, then releasing of it, Juliet comes to find herself, her soul mate, and the place she finally belongs.-Jenny M.
