All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot
LOVE the entire series of books recounting the career of a country vet in Scotland in the early to mid 1900's. Each chapter is a new story, each one funny and amazing. It almost makes me want to go to Scotland and see if it's as friendly and beautiful as Herriot says it is. And the fact that this is autobiographical makes it even better!-Jennifer N.
Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
I would actually give this book 4.5 stars if that was an option. This was a very good, gripping read. It is a historical fiction novel that takes place during World War II and is about a group of prisoners that Stalin takes and ships off to Siberian labor camps--it is a fight for survival story. Some might find this book slightly hard to follow initially . . . but it became one that I could not put down!

Adult Summer Reading Program
Who?
All adults! (Anyone ages 18 and over.) A Nampa library card is required. Library staff and their immediate family members are not eligible for prizes.
When?
Between June 1st and July 30th.
Why?
To encourage lifelong literacy through leisurely reading and to promote familial participation and to have a chance for some great prizes which include a chance to win one of two 3G Kindle e-Readers (as well as a few other things).
How?
Are you interested? If so, pick up Book Review forms at the information desk. Complete a form for each book you read. This form will be entered for prize drawings. So the more books you read the more chances you have to win! Read adult fiction or non-fiction books or listen to an audio book to be eligible.
When are the drawings?
Drawings will be on June 17th, July 8th and July 29th. Book Review entry forms will not roll over to each drawing. BUT, for the GRAND PRIZE KINDLE drawing, all Book Review entry forms entered during the summer will be included and must be submitted by closing on August 1st. The KINDLE drawing will be during the week of August 2nd.
